About the Role
Madewell is seeking an experienced and connected Senior Director of Brand Marketing to cover a 6-month maternity leave. This leader will own holistic brand marketing with a strong focus on brand partnerships, press, VIP relations, collaborations, and events. The ideal candidate is both strategic and creative, with a proven track record of building impactful brand narratives, cultivating influential relationships, and delivering integrated campaigns that drive awareness and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Marketing: Lead seasonal and evergreen brand campaigns across owned and external channels, ensuring unified storytelling.
Press & Media Relations: Manage PR strategy, agencies, and media outreach to secure coverage in fashion, lifestyle, and cultural outlets.
VIP Relations & Gifting: Oversee influencer, stylist, and cultural connector programs to build advocacy and organic buzz.
Partnerships & Collaborations: Identify, negotiate, and activate brand partnerships that elevate perception and reach new audiences.
Events & Experiential Marketing: Lead strategy and execution of seasonal launches, collaborations, activations, and tier A store events.
Leadership: Manage a high-performing PR + Events team, guiding them to deliver on brand and marketing objectives.
Key Deliverables
Seasonal press, VIP, and partnership strategies
Monthly strategies, campaign recaps, and performance reports
Event playbooks, moodboards, and post-event ROI recaps
Clear agency briefs, feedback, and oversight
Compensation & Commitment
$14,000/month (6-month term: October 13, 2025 – April 13, 2026)
Full-time (40 hours/week)
In-person at JCG corporate offices (FiDi) 3–4 days per week
Requirements
10+ years of senior brand marketing experience in fashion, retail, or lifestyle industries
Proven success in PR, partnerships, events, and influencer relations
Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, creative, and culturally relevant environment
