- LA BASED -Fractional President/CMO for iris & Romeo - Timing asap

The interim CMO/President will support the company during CEO's maternity leave, primarily focused on driving marketing momentum across various channels listed above. Our goal this year is to grow topline and efficiency on DTC, while building awareness and organic love to drive sales at Sephora. The interim CMO will work closely with Founder, Chief Brand Officer on brand marketing guidelines, while identifying opportunities to unlock growth marketing across channels. This role would also oversee all of the CEOs direct reports while out on mat leave. Ability to understand P&L, budgets and ROAS -- will partner with a fractional head of finance but does need to be able to understand the numbers generally. 

This role will start immediately and be full-time (freelance structure but 40 hours per week). 

Main area(s) of support you are seeking: 

Oversee marketing functions while CEO is out on maternity leave; partner with founder on brand/creative guidelines. Summary of marketing functions include:

  • Digital marketing -- this would be core competency/need:

    • Community engagement 

    • Organic social

    • Organic influencer/seeding

    • Ecomm/DTC and overall performance marketing (paid media + influencer)

      • we are hiring a head of growth to lead but this would roll into CMOs areas of responsibility

      • scaling DTC is a big priority for us in 2025

    • Guide strategy and process for creative - both organic and paid -- identify creative efficiencies and optimize creative for both paid and organic channels while adhering to founder/brand vision (this person needs to understand brand marketing and the role good creative and messaging plays in growth)

  • Retail Marketing

    • Support Sephora business, parenting with merchant, digital and marketing teams -- main priority as we are in full distribution in the US (600 doors, non-kohls)

      • I really own the merchant relationship day-to-day, so this person needs to be very versed/comfortable interfacing with sephora from a merchandising perspective 

    • Execute Nordstrom NYC Flagship marketing initiatives (small) -- we are launching in June in NYC and Nordstrom.com 

    • Support Credo & goop business (small)

Budget

Gross $20k - $25K/m   NET $16K - $20K /m 

*If the roles moves to FT Iris & Romeo will pay a placement fee

Start date & time commitment:

Start: ASAP. Early/mid June as CEO is due mid-July and would like some overlap and integration time. 

Any special requirements:

LA location strongly preferred, we are remote but most of the marketing team is based in LA and we would like this team to meet weekly. NYC would be possible for an amazing candidate but he/she would be required to travel to LA. CEO is in LA about once per month for reference. But again LA would be very preferred.
